Other Services Offered
Marya Setrak - Psychologist (Parramatta)
Marya’s profound commitment to mental health finds its roots in her younger years, which was spent in a remote rural town where access to mental health resources was limited. This early experience fuels her primary goal: to deliver therapy through a collaborative approach that empowers individuals to craft their own customized, attainable, and enduring strategies for managing their mental well-being.
Marya enjoys working with a diverse range of individual cases, encompassing Mood Disorders (such as Depression), Anxiety-related conditions (including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)), and personality disorders. Employing an array of therapeutic interventions—ranging from motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy to acceptance and commitment therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy—she effectively addresses an extensive array of psychological concerns.
Describing therapy as an ‘enriching journey’, Marya attains immense satisfaction from witnessing her clients evolve into self-reliant individuals.
This profound passion for fostering personal growth also led Marya to pursue the role of the UpStart Program Lead. The UpStart program under her guidance facilitates the transition of provisional psychologists into the professional realm, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their careers. For more details, please explore our UPstart program information page.
Outside of work, Marya enjoys spending time with her close family including her nieces and nephews, going to the gym or enjoying nature!
